Safety Training Evaluation Process
Whether your company is beginning its’ safety journey or working towards world-class
performance, the 2013 Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) will provide you with
the necessary tools to meet your safety goals. Participating in STEP provides you with an
opportunity to measure your safety program’s progress through the 20 Key Components
self-evaluation, identify areas of improvement, and benchmark your performance with
fellow ABC members. The Step levels are First STEP, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or
Diamond. The application is free (unless applying for Platinum or Diamond) and takes only
takes a short time to complete. Platinum and Diamond participants have an opportunity to
partner with the Indiana Department of Labor, which has additional benefits.

THE SAFETY TRAINING EVALUCATION PROCESS IS:
• an organized approach for analyzing and developing safety and loss
prevention programs
• a 20 point guide to starting, updating or auditing a company-wide safety program
• a full, wide ranging report on the entire nature of a company’s Safety Program including
both OSHA required safety data and self-assessments
• a benefit to both large and small contractors alike
• a form of Recognition for ABC members at both the National and Chapter level
• a precursor to National Safety Excellence Awards and Accredited Quality
