E&M Consulting, Inc. (E&M) began in 1999 as a sales, marketing and publishing company, and quickly became the industry leader in development maps for Home Builders Associations (HBA) across the United States. In 2002, Dan Schubert and Marc Lucia joined E&M as part of the sales and marketing team, and by 2005 both were promoted, Dan to Vice President of Marketing and Marc to National Sales Manager.
In 2004, E&M helped with its first parade/tour of homes and went on to start 17 parade/tour of homes for HBAs across the country. E&M has helped raise millions in non-dues revenue and has worked with over 6,000 builders and developers. In 2006, E&M embarked on a new venture to create membership directories and is currently working with hundreds of not-for-profit associations across 40+ different industry types.
In 2007, Krystie Dovenmuehler joined E&M and within the year was promoted to Director of Publishing. Beginning in 2008, E&M started publishing magazines and newsletters as supplemental publications to association membership directories and development maps. Three years later, the number of magazine and newsletter clients tripled, and, as a result, E&M created a division dedicated solely to online and printed magazine and newsletter publications.
In 2009, E&M created a separate sales and marketing division to assist associations with selling home show exhibitor space and show sponsorships – helping 20 associations in the first year. With E&M’s continued success and growth, Dan Schubert was promoted to President/Vice President of Marketing of E&M in 2010 and that same year, Marc Lucia was promoted to Vice President/National Sales Manager.
In 2012, E&M saw exciting changes. The company moved from its Chanhassen location to an eleven-thousand square-foot office space in Chaska, Minnesota, located near the Hazeltine Golf Course, home of the 2016 Ryder Cup. That same year, E&M started its sister company, E&M Management, LLC, to own and manage new home and remodeling shows in Texas, Tennessee, Indiana and Wisconsin.
Over the past 14 years, E&M has been consistently evolving and continues to do so. In 2013, E&M continued this evolution with the creation of the Online Buyer's Guide & Directory as an additional service to associations and is currently in the research and development stages for an online event management program. E&M creates millions of non-dues revenue on a no-cost, no-risk basis for not-for-profit associations across the country and attributes its 30%+ annual growth to minimal staff turnover and great partnerships that have generated award-winning publications and events.
