I
t is that time of year again to start planning for the
North Carolina Rural Water Association Annual
Conference & Exposition, Golf Outing and Sporting
Clay Shoot being held May 14-16 in Greensboro,
NC. First and foremost, I want to thank all of our
Sponsors from last year. Without our Sponsors, our
Conference would not be what it is today.
For this year’s Golf Tournament, scheduled for
May 14th, we will be returning to Stony Creek Golf
Course. The format will be Captain’s Choice Best
Ball. NCRWA staff will be selling mulligans and red
tees as part of our WaterPAC drive, so be sure to bring
cash or a personal check to give yourself and your
team an advantage. We will be playing from the white
tees, but seniors can play from the senior tees. Start
warming up now so that you have a chance to win the
$15,000 hole-in-one prize - sorry, no mulligans, red
tees, or senior tees allowed on this hole!
Soft drinks, bottled water, and snacks will be
provided on the course and lunch will be set up in
the clubhouse. Lunch will start at 10:00 am so you
can pick it up on the turn.
When sending in your team registrations, be sure
to include each player’s handicap. It helps with the
overall success of the tournament to have players
and teams in the appropriate flights. There will be
a Championship Flight, a First Flight and Second
Flight with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for each
flight. All prizes will be given out at lunch on
Wednesday in the exhibit hall.
So, pull your clubs out of the closet and start
perfecting your swing. This year’s Golf Tournament
is sure to be a great time!
