Bozzuto Construction Company
announced itwas selected
by the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing as general
contractor for The Springs, a mixed-use, mixed-income
apartment community in Arlington, Virginia. Construction on
the $42 million five-story project will begin in early 2015 and is
scheduled for completion in the summer of 2016.
Bryant
Foulger,
managing
principal of the
Foulger-Pratt
Companies

was
appointed
to Maryland Governor Larry
Hogan’s transition team. Foulger
was asked by the Governor to
review economic development
issues and initiatives, and to
serve on the business regulation
review team, which is focused on
streamlining regulatory reviews
and improving efficiency and
processing throughout the State.
Councilor, Buchanan&Mitchell, PC
announced the expansion
of its not-for-profit and professional services practices. CBM
specializes in providing audit and tax services to nonprofit
organizations in the DC metropolitan area, as well as other
specialty services for the professional services industry.
Mike Alto,
Clark Construction Group LLC
, and Jim Davis,
DAVIS Construction
, hosted a breakfast with DC-area
subcontractors to generate funds for the Samaritan Inns’
capital campaign. The event raised $48,000 to support the
organization’s programs that help individuals, and their
families, recover from alcohol and drug addiction. Alto,
Samaritan Inns’ chairman of the board, and Davis serve as
co-chairs of the Capital Campaign Planning Committee.
Mark B. Barry was promoted to
Senior Vice President of
Donohoe
Construction Company
. In this
new role, Barry serves as Business
Unit Leader for the Specialty
Contracting Division and also joins
the senior management team.
In addition, Donohoe Construction
announced that it broke ground on
two projects. The first, Camden NoMa
Phase II, is a 15-story luxury apartment building project in
northeast Washington, DC. Initial delivery is scheduled for
the first quarter of 2017. And, in Gaithersburg, Maryland,
the company started work on the Majestic at Watkins Mill, a
mixed-use, 243-unit apartment building project that is part
of the Watkins Mill Town Center. Initial delivery is scheduled
for the third quarter of 2016.
Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc.
announced that ownership
in the firm was extended to and accepted by Paul J. Phelan,
who joined EC&S in 2003. Phelan is the Senior Producer on the
Employee Benefit team, and manages carrier relationships for
other products.
In addition, the firm welcomed John Blackwell and Chris
Warren to the Construction Team. With more than 30 years’
experience, Blackwell joined EC&S as a Bond Executive. Warren
joined the firm as Vice President, Construction Practice.
