2015 SAFETYFEST IS A SUCCESS
On April 28, more than 60 people attended ABC of Metro
Washington’s first annual SafetyFest, a day-long, free event
delivering safety training to the industry. Classes included
fall protection, scaffold safety, first aid/CPR, rigging,
OSHA-10 certification, flagger and trenching and excavation
competent person certification. DEWALT/Powers was
on-hand to conduct tool safety demonstrations and HITT
Contracting, Inc. generously sponsored lunch for attendees.
AND THE WINNERS ARE...
One of the most popular ABC.XYZ events of the year was,
once again, a huge success. More than 100 kickball and
cornhole players competed in tournaments to win the
coveted “pig trophy.” Brown & Brown Insurance triumphed
in the kickball championship game. After five rounds at the
cornhole tournament, Eric Martell of Goldin & Stafford, LLC,
and Derek Irelan were victorious in their quest for the

of Bob Zinsmeister who joined the
association’s staff on June 12, 2000,
as director of government affairs.
Zinsmeister was acknowledged
for his service at a June 3rd dinner
meeting where he was presented
with several anniversary gifts.
