Q:
What do you feel AMTECH’s major role is?
A:
AMTECH is the only organization other than
marine engine builders. that is actively working
to improve consumers’ satisfaction with boating
by raising the technical accuity of marine
technicians in order to provide high quality
service. Consumers have extremely high
expectations regarding the quality and speed of
service for their boats and propulsion systems,
which relies on an the availability of properly
trained professionals.
Q:
What made you decide to volunteer to serve
on the board?
A:
I have had the pleasure of devoting nearly
my entire professional life to this industry,
and working for a corporation that invests
heavily into its future health and success. I
feel that whatever small part that I can do
that might have a positive impact to such a
fundamentally critical area to its future, is the
least that I can do.
Q:
Where do you see the industry going?
A:
The industry is certainly recovering from the
recession. Boating continues to be a very
attractive recreational activity for families and
people of all ages. I believe that the future
is bright, as we see boat builders, engine
and accessory manufacturers designing on
producing the next generation of products that
meet the continually evolving expectations
of consumers. These products are far more
sophisticated than those they are replacing,
increasing the need for properly educated and
trained technicians, which further validates the
imporant mission of AMTECH.

• Marine Dealer Manager and Certified Technician for 4 years
• Dealership Owner for 2 1/2 years
• Engine Parts Manufacturing - Sales Management and General Management for 18 years
• Distribution Management for 14 1/2 years
• National Marine Distributors Association Board of Directors for 6 years
• Association of Marine Technicians Board of Directors for 2002-2005,
currently in 2nd Term since 2013
• Served on several NMMA committees
PERSONAL:
• Nearly life-long resident of Louisiana.
• Married to my lovely wife for over 33 years.
• Proud father of an LSU Tiger!!!!
• Enjoy travel, music, reading, history, outdoors,
and cooking.
• Member of several service/philanthropic
organizations.
