decades to come as John served as the Conference Planning Committee
Chairman for nearly 20 years. John was the face and voice of the Exhibit
Hall and left some very big shoes to fill, both literally and figuratively.
We appreciate both of these gentlemen and wish them the best in their
retirement. Mr. Todd Taylor of Orange Water and Sewer Authority was
elected to fill the directorship vacated by Mr. Stabler, and Mr. Johnny
Spencer of Tyrell County Water was elected to fill the directorship
vacated by Mr. Gregory. We look forward to working with both of these
directors in the future.
Next, I would like to express our appreciation to Mr. Tom Reeder,
Director of the Division of Water Resources, for providing his comments
to our membership during the closing session of the Conference. Mr.
Reeder has been a great friend to NCRWA, and we enjoyed having him
with us in Greensboro this year.
In closing, I would like to mention the 2

Annual Leadership Summit that
is upcoming at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville on September 4

.
Following in the prior year’s precedence of topics and speakers, we have
many of the most knowledgeable persons in the state delivering sessions
on issues that affect the upper management and boards of water and
