INDEX OF ADVERTISERS
On Jul. 29, 2014, Gov. John Kasich
and Lt. Governor Mary Taylor received
the endorsement of the Ohio Restaurant
Association (ORA) at Triple Play Café, a
Steubenville ORA member restaurant,
which is owned and operated by Al
Macre. ORA Chairman Roy Getz and ORA
President & CEO Geoff Hetrick attended
the event and lent their support due to the
governor’s continued pro-business agenda.
“Under the leadership of the governor and
lieutenant governor, Ohio’s economy and
job market have dramatically improved,”
said Geoff Hetrick, President & CEO of
the Ohio Restaurant Association. “Over
the past four years, their focused efforts
have had a direct and positive impact on
the restaurant industry. Both Gov. Kasich
and Lt. Gov. Taylor understand the unique
challenges our members face and are
doing their best to reduce them, which is
why we’re endorsing their leadership for
another four years.”
The association’s endorsement process
is non-partisan, comprehensive and
based on the candidates’ own responses
to a questionnaire they receive from the
ORA that analyzes candidates’ interest in
supporting ORA-backed policies that are
geared toward helping the industry grow
and the creation of new jobs. The ORA
provides every statewide candidate and
those running for Ohio House and Senate
with an opportunity to share their positions
with the association.
During their four years in office, the
governor and lieutenant governor have
had a direct and positive impact on the
restaurant industry in a number of ways.
“The jobs-friendly climate we’re building
in Ohio is leading to a stronger economy,
more jobs and busier restaurants,” said
Kasich. “We’re up over a quarter-million
new private sector jobs, and as more
people continue to get back to work, more
Ohio families are eating out and that’s
great news for our restaurants.”
“(Hosting this) was a tremendous honor,”
said Macre, Triple Play Café’s owner/
operator. “We were kind of blindsided
by this a few weeks ago. We’ve had the
governor here before. We really appreciate
what he has done for the state. To have
him back on the day he receives an
endorsement from our trade organization
– the ORA – I can’t even explain how great
it feels.”
