The Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) is holding its third annual
Lobby Day on Mar. 11, 2015 at the Riffe Center in Columbus.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet with lawmakers
and remind them of the powerful role Ohio’s foodservice industry
plays in driving the state’s economic engine.
“Legislators need to hear our members’ stories,” said ORA
Director of Government Affairs Joe Rosato. “Lobby Day is going
to be fun. I truly believe members will enjoy sitting down with
their representatives and vice versa.”
ORA Lobby Day begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Executive Conference
Rooms on the 31
st
floor of the Riffe Center, which is located
right across the street from the Ohio Capitol. Participants will
receive a briefing on industry issues while they enjoy a light
breakfast. ORA members will then meet with their legislators
at appointments scheduled by the ORA. The day will end with
a catered lunch attended by ORA members, legislators and
their staff.
Joe Rosato joined the Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA)
as director of government affairs in November. He replaced
Richard Mason, who retired at the end of the year.
Rosato most recently served as government relations
coordinator with the Ohio Bankers League and previously
worked as a legislative aide in the General Assembly. He
has also held positions with the Ohio Society of CPAs and
Strategic Public Partners. He is a graduate of Ohio
Wesleyan University.
Erin Thomas joined the Ohio Restaurant Association
Education Foundation (OREF) staff as administrative
assistant in November.
Thomas has extensive experience in association management
and event planning. She is eager to work with Ohio’s
foodservice students and professionals to help promote and
strengthen the Ohio Prostart Program.
