Spring 2014 — Quad Cities Builders & Remodelers Association

WELCOME
W
elcome summer sunshine! If ever there was a winter
to challenge our home building professionals…this
was that winter, but now our industry is heating up.
Bulldozers are shaking the earth, hammers are banging up boards,
and our QCBR leadership is designing a plan to enhance our
memberships and improve bottom lines.
Following our successful Home Show Expo, which was sold out
of vendor booth space, plans began for our Spring Preview Parade
of Homes. Featuring a summer sunshine theme, all indicators
show that we will display almost 30 custom homes with fresh new
ideas, floor plans and products. Bolstered by a robust multi-media
marketing campaign (including 40,000 parade brochure inserts
distributed to consumers in the Quad City Times) we’re expecting
a huge response from pent up consumer demand.
Our Remodelers Council is brainstorming an electronic website
promotional event…designed to highlight the “Best Work” of our
Remodelers Council Members. Be watching for details and thinking
about what you’d like to feature as the best of your best work.
Giving back to our communities has always been a key component of
our QCBR. Summer warmth will bring progress to construction of
the Family Enrichment Center, located at the entrance of the Goose
Creek addition on 59
th
Street in Davenport. Through the generous
involvement of numerous QCBR individuals and businesses, under
the direction of Scott Pearson – the dream of opportunity will soon
be a reality for challenged youth of our community.
We recognized that homebuilders and realtors share common
struggles and rewards. Our QCBR will continue to coordinate and
participate with the QCARA Realtors Association. If you know a
REALTOR, invite them to a QCBR event or join them at a QCARA
event. Partnerships create progress.
Finally, let’s all recognize that our QCBR is no stronger than our
weakest links. So if you are not involved and engaged…you are
without a personal voice on local, state and national issues.
Make this summer the summer you decide to SHINE as a
QCBR leader.
