Ruppert Landscape
announced the promotions of Bob Jones
to the position of president of the Landscape Construction
Division and Jack Jones to region manager overseeing
branches in North Carolina and Georgia. Bob Jones has
over 30 years of industry experience, 17 of which have been
with the company, and Jack Jones, with 12 years of industry
experience, has been with Ruppert Landscape for eight years.
The firm also promoted Doug Halsey and Fred Key to regional
vice president. Hall will lead the landscape management
division in the northern region, which includes the company’s
branches inWashington, DC, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Key
will lead the landscape management division in the southern
region, which includes the company’s branches in Virginia,
North Carolina and Georgia.
After 15 years with other industry-related firms, Ken Railey has
returned to Ruppert Landscape as the company’s director of
fleet operations.
SIGAL Construction Corporation
has been awarded the
renovation of 3206 Grace Street, NW, the future home of Dog
Tag Bakery in Georgetown. Dog Tag Bakery, Inc., a tax-exempt
non-profit organization, provides veterans and their spouses
employment and education opportunities. With an emphasis
on the building’s interior, Dog Tag Bakery will host finishes
friendly to impaired veterans. The programwill allow veterans
to work in the bakery while also pursuing a tailor-made
curriculum at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies.

founder John F. Miller passed away
on October 3, 2013, at the age of 91. During World War II,
Miller served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater/Philippines.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Miller and
co-founder James Long started Miller & Long in 1947.
