ABC.XYZ Young Professionals’ Group
is Forging a Place in the Industry
Originally founded to provide networking and business
development opportunities for young construction
professionals, ABC.XYZ Young Professionals’ Group has
modified its focus to better suit the needs of the 40 and
under construction crowd. Headed by a task force that meets
bi-monthly, XYZers are provided the opportunity to meet
with one another in casual and intimate settings once every
other month for networking. As part of the restructuring
process, each event now includes an educational segment.
Topics span networking skills, BIM technology, green
building practices, project management, politics, site tours
and opportunities for professional growth within ABC – all
determined by young professionals in the industry. In 2013,
the group held the following events:
• Speed Networking with Dale Carnegie Training
• 9 @ Night – Evening Glowball Golf and Cornhole Tournament
• BIM Technology and Networking at Cadillac Ranch
• Gaithersburg High School Site Tour and
Growlers Brew Pub Happy Hour
• Networking and Introduction to Leadership
