Partners with Dunbar HS

The educational partnership between

ABC of Metro Washington and the Dr.

Charles Drew Engineering Academy at

Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School will

benefit students and the commercial

construction industry. ABC of Metro

Washington will provide opportunities

for academy students to actively

engage in a variety of educational

enrichment experiences and

worked-based learning opportunities.

Monday, September 21, 2015 marked

the first session for students, with

an overview of the commercial

construction industry. Representatives

from Hensel Phelps’ Supplier Diversity

Program discussed the many aspects

of construction, as well as the

opportunities for individuals of all

education levels within the industry.

Staff from ABC Metro Washington

reviewed how local construction

projects work and the role of the local

government in construction projects.

Receives Highest

Accreditation Level

ABC of Metro Washington recently

underwent the ABC National

accreditation process, achieving

accreditation at the High Performing

Level. This thorough process reviews

the chapter’s performance in several

key areas, ensuring high standards

of the association are upheld. ABC of

Metro Washington will be recognized

at the awards banquet held at the

2016 Workforce Conference.
