DENISE
GRANADOS
Project Manager/Analyst
Denise Granados is our data guru - using her
insight to help with future event planning and
forecasting. In addition to knowing our database
inside and out, Denise also co-manages the
HR West annual conference, including the ever-
important job of working with our sponsors and
exhibitors. Prior roles have included Enrollment
Processor at Notre Dame De Namur University,
Wash Down Crew at Rio Tinto Mining Company in Western Australia, and Personal
Trainer at 24 Hour Fitness.
AMBER
JAVAID
Marketing Coordinator
Social Media Coordinator
Amber Javaid is the Marketing & Social Media
Coordinator, driving content and communication
for the organization. She has held award-winning
roles in Sales and Technical Training for Fortune
500 companies since her freshman year. She
enjoys immersing herself in Adobe Creative Suite,
Graphic Design, HTML and learning languages.
MELISSA
NAFTEL
Office Coordinator
is likely the first person you’ll talk to when
calling NCHRA. In addition to assisting
members of the community over the phone,
Melissa keeps the office running smoothly and
ensures successful setup of the majority of the
Association’s events. Prior to NCHRA, Melissa
was an Administrative Assistant at America’s
Job Center of California EASTBAY Works. She is currently working toward her
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
KENNETH
YIP
Program Manager
has been with the Association for more than
nine years. Kenneth currently manages the
organization’s regional meetings, networking
socials, full-day seminars, half-day workshops,
ePrograms and webinars. Kenneth has worked
in all three departments of the Association as
he started in membership, moved to marketing
and is now in programming. He also managed the certification prep course offer-
ing for 5 years, and is responsible for launching the first-ever online certification
prep course.
LISA
HICKEY
Associate Director
plans and manages all NCHRA’s conferences,
including the HR West annual conference, as
well as HR Certification Preparation programs.
Her favorite part of her work is talking to people
that are passionate about what they do. Lisa
started her 10+ year HR career in employee
relations at Salomon Brothers, a Wall Street
investment bank; managed retirement plan departments in both the U.S. and
U.K. for Salomon Smith Barney; and developed and implemented an onboarding
and orientation program for Citigroup Asset Management. Lisa holds a Masters
in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University and a Bachelor
of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.
AMY
POWERS
Marketing &
Communications Manager
has been with the Association for nine years.
Amy takes pride in developing and maintaining
the Association’s website - nchra.org,
producing
HR West
Magazine, and managing
the promotion of more than 100 education
events per year. Prior to NCHRA, Amy worked
in marketing at United Behavioral Health. In her free time, Amy enjoys camping in
the redwoods up and down the California coast.
