practices to successfully implement a new HR system.
A selling point of online-based Cloud software is that it is easy to implement.

hardware or installing and testing new software is eased. But HR’s role in
leading the implementation remains challenging. Technological advances aside,
it is imperative to learn why HR system implementations fail and how to avoid
common problems. Learn how to take advantage of system functionality to

The Paradigm Shift of Women Leaders:
Creating Optimal Dynamics
Workplace Application:
Appreciate the unique characteristics of women leaders
to develop growth paths that better align with their natural capabilities.
According to a 2013 study, women are still significantly outnumbered by men in
leadership roles, comprising only 4.2 percent of the Fortune 500 CEO positions.
However, new research shows that women leaders may be better than their
male counterparts at persuasion, assertiveness and risk-taking. Just look at
Marissa Mayer, President and CEO of Yahoo!, and Sheryl Sandberg, CEO of
Facebook, as examples. Understand women’s strengths—and struggles —to
help them develop, bridge the culture gap of the male-dominated C-suite, and
ultimately, break the glass ceiling.

Leadership and Compassion:
Compelling New Research About the Way We Work
Workplace Application:
Leverage compassion in the workplace to increase
productivity and achieve strategic objectives.
Recent studies have established the positive effects of compassion at work
and we are beginning to realize its impact on organizational pain points.
Compassion is naturally present in organizational contexts, but its power is not
harnessed. Employers give no consideration to compassion within their teams
until workers’ compensation claims are filed and their insurance costs increase.
Understand how compassion can increase productivity, reduce health care and
litigation costs, and drive positive engagement. Learn to apply compassion-
based methodologies in human resources tactics and strategies.

Improve your team’s ability to innovate and solve
problems by learning to express ideas visually.
Eighty percent of our brain’s sensory processing power is devoted to vision.
Visual learners comprise 65 percent of the population. Visual practices can
improve the way we communicate our ideas, enhance the written record of
our meetings and decisions, and spark creativity and collaboration as we solve
problems and plan strategies. In this highly participatory workshop, review the
building blocks of visual communication, then grab markers, sticky notes, and
play-dough and get to it! Explore mind mapping, graphic recording, kinesthetic
modeling, and gamestorming tools. Artistic ability is not required!
