Fall 2015
from the president
H
aving just attended NCRWA’s 3
rd
Annual Leadership Summit September 3
rd
and 4
th
in Charlotte, I return with
information that will be greatly beneficial to me, Eastern Pines Water Corporation, and to our customers. Much
information was gained from the guest speakers highlighting this event. Another tremendous benefit were the
discussions that took place with other members, vendors/sponsors, and NCRWA staff. The combined effort of
all make events like this possible and successful.
The summit dinner was especially exciting for me since I had the honor and privilege of recognizing Mr. Ron
McGrady, a long standing board member and friend, for his loyal and dedicated service to NCRWA since its
inception in 1977.
On another note, National Customer Service Week was October 5-9, 2015, but good customer service is
essential every day. I know that sometimes we have too many things to do and deadlines to meet, and it
could be easy to forget about the importance of our customers. In fact, management and daily operation is
important, but ultimately our customers are the most important asset of a water and wastewater system. So,
make customer service a high priority
and remember that great customer service provided by great employees
is a winning combination for all water and wastewater systems.
Sincerely,
Barry Sutton
NCRWA President
