The Nevada Contractors Association

S

t. Rose Dominican Hospitals—Siena Campus in

Henderson, Nevada opened a newly-built tower last

September. The expansion brought an additional

215,575 square feet of space to the campus. Levels three and

four of the five-story building each house 36 medical surgery

beds. The first floor features a renovated and expanded

emergency department and a new lobby, and the second floor

contains 28 ICU patient beds and 6 new operating rooms.

Kitchell Contractors, Inc. oversaw the project and brought

on GSL Electric to complete a portion of the low-voltage

work, specifically the nurse call system, access controls,

telemetry, and CCTV. GSL Electric had the necessary

manpower and expertise to get the job done. “We’re known

as an electrical contractor by nature, with the capabilities

for a complete low-voltage package,” said Dustin Williams,

GSL’s Special Projects Department Manager. “We did

Centennial Hills Hospital back in 2007, which was a ground-

up project, going from a dirt lot to admitting patients.” Mark

Barron is a project coordinator for GSL. “Everything we put

in was the latest and greatest,” said Barron. “For the CCTV

system, we upgraded to all IP cameras.”

GSL’s work on the project took approximately eight months

to complete. Their deadline was met without any delays
