rafting Solutions, Inc. is a residential
design firm that offers a full range
of design services including
custom home design, room addition design,
remodels, and site plans.
Doug Anderson graduated from Iowa State
University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Community and Regional Planning in
1993 with a Minor in Urban Design and
extensive studies in Architecture. After a
brief internship working for Levin Associates
Architects in Des Plaines, IL, he returned
back to the Quad Cities to accept a position
with The City of Rock Island in 1994. He
proceeded to work as an Urban Planner for
seven years for both the City of Rock Island
and the City of Moline until, in 2001, he
formed Drafting Solutions, Inc. to pursue a
life-long dream of being self employed and
working at home.
With 13 years of full-time professional
experience, and another five years of part-
time experience designing on the side, Mr.
Anderson brings considerable expertise to
all of his clients. He has worked intently on
over 2,000 design projects including custom
homes as large as 10,000 sq. ft., multi-
family housing and apartment projects, two-
unit condominiums, room additions, major
renovation projects, and light commercial
projects. His work can be seen throughout
the Quad Cities area as he regularly designs
homes for over forty different builders in
the Quad City area. He has also completed
numerous designs in other parts of the
country including Wisconsin, Texas,
Florida, Nebraska, and a recent home in
Pennsylvania.
With a substantial background in urban
planning, Mr. Anderson can also consult
and assist his clientele with other items
including site planning and design,
subdivision design, building setbacks, and
right-of-way issues. He also volunteers his
time to complete design work for the local
Habitat for Humanity and is a member of
the Quad Cities Builders & Remodelers
Association. When he’s not busy drawing
houses, he enjoys spending time with his
wife of 20 years and two teenage daughters.
He also enjoys traveling, golfing, skiing,
camping and watching movies.
