T
hese are all terms that describe some new collaborative training events offered
by NCRWA. Two of our Associate Members, Singer Valve and Carotek, Inc.,
have been involved in the planning of collaborative continuing education
classes at their respective facilities.
Both Singer Valve & Carotek offer unique learning and training facilities.
Singer Valve’s learning center, located in Charlotte, is composed of a
simulated closed-system water facility with valves functioning under typical
system pressure. Training attendees have the opportunity to disassemble,
reassemble and rebuild valves. Up to 18 attendees work together in teams
to trouble-shoot valve problems created by the knowledgeable instructors.
This facility offers such a wonderful hands-on learning opportunity with the
combining of auditory, visual and tactile/kinesthetic learning stimuli.
NCRWAis also worked with Carotek to offer a six hour dual credit Continuing
Education training day in their facility in Matthews, NC. Carotek provides
a simulated water/wastewater learning lab that mimics a fully functional
“mini process plant”. At the Carotek facility, the practical classroom is
combined with the simulated mini process plant. This learning environment
is designed to teach fundamental and practical knowledge of instrumentation
and applications with an emphasis on service and maintenance. The “mini
process plant” includes over 90 field instruments which are all functional.
This training facility has the capability of demonstrating Energy Management
capabilities along with a functional Wireless Web System.
Singer Valve hosted the first hands-on training at their facility on May 21,
2015, followed by a training hosted by Carotek on June 11th. All the attendees
were blown away by the phenomenal training and learning experiences, so
we certainly plan to repeat these trainings in the future!
Watch the NCRWAwebsite to find out when the next trainings at Carotek and
Singer Valve will take place. The benefits of these training venues are too
good to pass up! Join us for:
