his year’s Corn Hole Tourney was sponsored by W.K. Dickson. Mr. Brian Hager along with
Ms. Jessica Wooten provided four sets of “Holes.” The “Holes” were arrayed in the Imperial
Ballroom. Play started at 3:00 p.m. with FIFTEEN teams competing. The Tournament Format
was double elimination. Ms. Jessica Wooten from W.K. Dickson helped seed the brackets.
Early games were close with the teams often canceling each other’s scores out with well-placed
tosses. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation fielded seven competitive teams. Last year’s
Champions were not present to defend their title. The walk-in team from Pittsboro made a run
from the loser’s bracket but came up short in the end placing third overall. The Christopher
Ledford & John Crowe (EBCI 1 team) won first place with Jayson Sneed & John Swimmer (THE
EBCI) placing second.
The finals were played in the exhibit Hall. A great time was had by all. Congratulations are
extended to all who participated. Next year’s tourney should be even better.
