Mr. Wilson,
On belhalf of the Town of Bakersville, I
would like to express our gratitude to the
NCRWA for the services provided by you and
your employee Debbie Maner. She was very
informative and did an outstanding job in
helping us complete our Wellhead Protection
Plan under the time constraints that we had.
She guided us through the whole process
and went above and beyond to get our plan
done. We greatly appreciate the time that
she spent working on our plan. We are in
the process of applying for a grant to drill
a new well, which is critical for our Town.
We needed to complete our plan in order to
get points on our grant application. Small
Towns like ours benefit from NCRWA and the
service they provide. Once again thanks for
all that you do.
Sincerely,
Charles E. Vines
Mayor
Dear Mr. Starner,
I would like to express my deepest
appreciation for the assistance you gave us
in developing the above referenced Wellhead
Protection Program for Scientific Water &
Sewerage Corporation. You have been a
tremendous help to both myself and the
company with straightforward answers to
any questions we had during the process.
It was a pleasure working with you and we
are very grateful for all your efforts.
Sincerely,
Ben Aragona, President
Scientific Water & Sewer, Inc.
Mr. Wilson,
The Town of West Jefferson is grateful to
NC Rural Water and to your dedicated staff.
Your staff in the leak detection program
is excellent. The Town would like to say a
special thank you to Keith Buff, who spent
in excess of 50 hours assisting our staff
in locating our water loss. Also, thanks to
Marty Wilson and Al Slover.
In April the Town began seeing an enormous
water loss in excess of 100,000 gallons per
day. Our staff was unable to find our loss,
so we contacted your leak detection unit for
assistance. This group assisted in finding
over 12 leaks in our 28 miles of lines. After
correcting a dozen leaks our water loss
continued. On July 1
st
, Mr. Buff brought
Marty and Al to assist and go to each meter
and valve in Town. On July 2
nd
, this group
found our leak with Rural Water’s electronic
equipment, where the water was running
directly into a storm drain. On July 3
rd
, our
tank levels were back to normal.
The Town is pleased to say we are a member
of NC Rural Water.
Sincerely,
Dale Baldwin, Mayor
Stephen Shoemaker, Alderman
Brett Summey, Alderman
Tom Hartman, Alderman
Calvin Green, Alderman
John K. Reeves, Alderman
Brantley Price, Town Manager
Dear Mr. Wilson,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank
you for the assistance Mr. Brian Grogan with
the NC Rural Water Association provided in
updating our Wellhead Protection Plan. Mr.
Grogan is very knowledgable in his field
and was eager to assist in getting our plan
updated in a timely manner.
Being a small town, we rely heavily on the
assistance, resources and knowledge of
organizations such as the NC Rural Water
Association to keep us informed of mandated
changes that affect our most valuable
natural resource.
The Town of White Lake appreciates the
important role you and your organization
play in protecting our drinking water supply.
With kind regards, I am.
Sincerely,
Timothy F. Frush
Public Works Director
Town of White Lake
Dear Mr. Wilson,
I’m writing you this letter on behalf of the Town
of Elm City to show our greatest thanks and
appreciation for the North Carolina Rural Water
Association’s assistance in creating a Wellhead
Protection Plan for the Town. Debbie Maner’s
efforts in particular were invaluable in formulating
the Plan. Without her help, the Plan would have
never been created. It has been a great pleasure
working with Debbie on this project.
Sincerely,
Grady Smith
Mayor, Town of Elm City
